how does 68rfe tcc work

So who can tell me how the TCC works, Soleniods and all. Problem ive been having is some surging in reverse upon start up ( back out of driveway in the morning) sometimes its like your trying to stop a manual truck without pushing the clutch.

Other problem is if im driving around 45-60 it will surge, RPMs dont move but it feels like the wheel quit pushing then go again, like they are slippin on ice per say.

Sooo if anyone can give me any ideas on what to look at id appreciate it. No codes or anything but it seems electrical to me but figure id get the mechanics of it as well
