Funny Story...Wrong Fuel
Funny Story...Wrong Fuel
Purchased my first Cummins two weeks ago, but didn't get the truck I paid for. The dealer had two trucks, one mega cab XLT and one standard 4 door base model. I went with the base model for $38K Vs $51K for the mega. My only problem was during delivery (after all paperwork was done), the lot boy drove 4 miles to get fuel, filled the truck and drove back to the lot and handed me the keys. I got in, started the truck and noticed it started hard and was missing! Yup, he filled her up with unleaded! I told the Sales Manager that I wasn't taking this one, and let's take a walk. I told him that I would take the mega for the same numbers. He talked via cell phone to the GM for about 15 minutes and came back with an OK. I'm in the RV buisiness as a Sales Manger and when I pulled the invoice via NADA, the stated invoice was $42K. I guess the former lot boy did me one heck of a favor! BTW, this father is a mechanic at the dealership. I bet he had a great week!
When I bought mine I deldt directly with the G.M. of the dealership. He handed my keys to a much older sales guy and said go fill this truck up and I'm putting your name on the deal.I decided to ride down with guy me driving.Get to station,he gets out, grabs pump handle and as I got out noticed it was the unleaded nozzel heading for the fuel tank door in his hand.Glad I drove and went with him.
