Here goes. I am currently reading the NOV/DEC 2010 Truck Trend magazine. They have a 2011 Cummins Laramie Crew Cab that they tested over a 5500 mile course. They claim 13mpg as their worst fuel economy, 15.3 as an avg throughout the test, and 19.4 as a best. 347 miles per tank avg, with $77.18 avg per fill up.

Guess what, I just happen to have a 2011 Laramie Mega Cab Cummins with 6spd Auto. Same truck. I babied the dog crap out of the truck for the first tank and netted a blistering 12.8mpg. There is no way that this truck gets 19mpg in stock form, unless someone knows a 400mile down hill somewhere. Anyway, I am doing modifications as soon as I can. Stand by because for the next tank I am going to run the dog **** out of my truck and post those numbers. Can't wait to see the difference.

Before my deletes I would have had to pull my 07.5 with another truck to get that much mileage.

I did get as high as 20+ mpg (750 miles on one tank) with my 07 5.9 that was 2wd stick shift...

BUT... My daily commute netted 16-17 mpg

My 4x4 dually mega cab will get 15-16 on the same daily commute.

Not too big a difference especially considering the increase in weight and rolling resistance.

I have yet to find if the new truck will get in the 20 range... I'm always pulling something around these days.

Using Imperial gallons:
My buddy Craig has a '03 and he claims an average of 25 mpg.
My '08 (with the exhaust deletes) gets an average of 25 mpg.

I was averaging 19 before getting on the truck on a diet.
Craig also mentioned getting as high as 30!

My 08 2500 4X4 Quad Cab 6 speed auto, 3:73 gears running empty averages 16-17 mpg cty/hwy combined. Towing drops it to 12-14. I have only had it on a 400 mile hwy trip about 4 times and it got 19 twice and 21 twice. I drive posted speed limits, figures are hand calculated. Truck is totally stock.

UPDATE: 1st Tank 12.8mpg 100% stock. 2nd Tank 13.8mpg with only silencer removed. 3rd Tank 13.3mpg with silencer and EGR unplugged. The digital gage read 16.8 at time of "fill up" and I was really happy. Then I did my "Hand Calculation" and came up at 13.3 even though the gage still read 16.8mpg. I plugged the EGR back in and I am trying everything again. I guarantee the exact mileage and direction was driven every day on this truck. But I can tell you that my driving style constantly changes. I don't know what it is about this truck, my 1st Diesel, but every Honda Civic that pulls up next to me wants to race!! I do not care what the mileage is, I am keeping this thing forever.

With the Dynatrac hubs it's easy for me to see 20+ if I keep the speed at 70 or less. Last year did a 2000 mile tow of the 7000lb TT and averaged 14 @ 65, that's So Cal to Columbia River and back. All stock, even the tires.

I want those hubs so bad... But I would get myself in trouble trying to be lazy and not lock them in when needed.

Well, I don't get any 25 MPG, but if I turn my MP8 up, I can get up to 40+ on my over head!!!! No seriously, running the flats to work and back 60 miles one way, I get around 20/21 MPG with the cruise set at 68 and RPMS at 1950... If I drive 60 I can get 23, but it drives me flippin nuts!

If you are getting 21 to the US gallon, you're getting the same milage I am, 25 to the IMP gallon, doing 70. Any slower and it feels like you'll get there tomorrow!
Though I do love the growl it makes at those slower speeds.
