Front Pinion bearing fails! They say its normal

69832 miles and my front pinion bearing fails, comes apart and falls into front pumpkin and locks up front end. Thankfully I was just around corner from house doing about 25 mph when it happened. Felt like I ran over a boulder. Had it flat beaded to dealer. They wanted 6500 dollars to put whole new front end under truck. The tech could not get the pinion gear out because the crush washer was over tightend one to many times and seized it all up. That and he needs a bigger hammer After numerous phone calls with Chrysler LLC and The BIG WIG at dealer I now only owe 1250.00 They say that this was normal wear and not beacause they had previously replaced pinion seal three times in the last 2 years and used impact and not a torq wrench. So to any of you who have a pinion leak, becarefull and good luck! It could get very expensive because of some under qualified tech with a high power impact gun!

They should have done it all for free if they reused the crush sleeve.
It is a one time use item.

That is one of the issues I am having with dearlership. Recall or comeback is what they call it at other shops, BUT not this one. It was done under my extended warranty and I should have faught it more then and maybe I would not be where Im at now.
