Come on now! It's just a Rokktech crank sensor!
It's not like I have an MP8 stacked with an Edge box........ The power is nice but I swear I only did this for the mileage....

Give me a couple more days to test the mileage before you go and buy one...

Can somebody test their truck and see if they can easily break the tires loose with their stock truck? I never tried it with the stock sensor in it and I'd really like to know if the Rokktech is what is allowing me to do this. I know that many earlier 3rd gens could not do this when totally stock...

Wish I could help on that one, but i don't have an automatic plus i have larger tires and 3.42 gears so my results would do nothing to give you a baseline.

How hard is it to swap out? Could you not swap the stock timing sensor back in the truck, go for a quick test drive, then put the ROKKtech back in? That's really the closest you can get to an accurate baseline since it is the same vehicle/same driver under both circumstances.

Yeah, I could do that but I'm sure some of these guys don't mind trying to do a burnout....

Kinda dumb question but did you just punch it from a standing start or power brake it a bit?? I have 285's too so I could help with this scientific test as I leave work today but I need the proper testing paramaters

I did a powerbrake. I know I could spin the tires a bit by just punching it without holding the brake even with the stock crank sensor. This was especially true if I was turning when I punched it.

Well, after a couple days of driving, mileage appears about the same or maybe even one or two tenths down. I'm gonna give it a couple more days but it looks like this experiment is a bust. I almost think I need to do the tone ring mod to get some more advance but I really don't want to mess with this truck too much. Oh well. It was worth a try. When I pull it off I will try to powerbrake it again and see if it will still light them up with the stock sensor in place.....

I think the powerbraking may have something to do with that

I would give it until your past the power testing phase to call the jury.

First rule of "6.7l club"

Don't talk about 6.7l club!
2nd rule of 6.7l club. Never judge your mileage by just one day's driving!!!!

So first I thought mileage was up a bit. Then it was down a bit. Now it's back up a bit more than the initial number. All this in a period of three days. So, I must have gone into regen while I was checking mileage for my last post because the mileage had gone down a good bit. Now over the last 60 miles it has gone back up and over where I started checking it with the Rokktech. I guess you really need to drive for one or two full weeks to get the best account of your actual mileage because as much as we hate the regen process it is a normal characteristic of these trucks and must be taken into account when figuring mileage.

I'll post up again when this tank of fuel is gone. But Shhh! Don't talk about 6.7l club!!!

At least go through 3 tanks of fuel before coming up with a conclusion.
