Engine Light On

I've barely put 350 miles on my 08' 6.7 and the engine light is coming on. Taking it to the dealership today to fix the problem, Anyone else having the same issue or suggestions.

The 6.7 seems to have more issues when new and will drop codes that the dealer has to reset. Most people report little or no drop in performance and some ignore the light after a few trips back to the dealer, not a recommendation but it does seem to happen.

Report back on what the dealer said the code was caused by.

I will try to update and let everyone know what's up. It's just a little aggrevating. But I do love me a cummins engine.

It's happened to a lot of us. Don't let it bother you to much. I've only had to go back in once (knock on wood). My milage went up and haven't had it happen again.

Mine comes on constantly. The code that is set reads, "Turbo charger boost pressure not detected". Both dealer and I agree that replacing the turbo would only be a temporary fix until this emissions stuff is figured out. The truck drives fine regardless of whether the CEL is lit or not. I'll probably get tired of it eventually and push to have the turbo replaced, anyway.

Mine did the same last week after less than 1800 miles. The 02 sensor was the culprit. Let us know what yours was.

I had the same 12MPG doing alot of stopping and go driving. My truck was in constant regen and never got uo to enough EGT to finish. I changed my route and let the regen process finish ( it will not finish at idle or high idle). Your milage will improve if you let it finish.
