Engine Block Heater Element

Been using my block heater on my truck, then a couple of weeks ago it started "blowing" my gfi plug in my garage. So I started to use a non-gfi fault plug and it was fine. Then Christmas day I noticed it was not working. So I went and got a new cord. Removed the old plug and all the contacts were burnt up. Installed the new one and plugged it in, and I heard a pop. I looked and it popped off the element on the block. I am going to guess at the oblivious the element is bad.

I am not a pro working on the truck but I get by with help of the DTR community, (THANKS TO ALL), so how hard is it to change the block heater element? Where can I find instructions if it is complicated?

Thanks for any and all input
