Dealership Diagnose Problems
Dealership Diagnose Problems
I have an '07 Cab and Chassis, I have 9300 miles on it, and I haven't had any real problems with it until Monday morning, it started knocking really bad and put out a white smoke screen that blocked sight across five lanes
, and then it died, wouldn't even try to start, anyhow it got towed to the local dealership who now claim that they can't diagnose it because they need some sort of special tool to figure out what's wrong. I suspect a bad injector, due to the white smoke and excess fuel that was dripping from the tailpipe, anyhow, it's been in the shop for nearly a week, and still nobody has diagnosed it, has anyone else heard of such a thing? And why would Chyrsler put out an engine without dealer support?

i know the black is from a partial burn and also called soot.
When i read what he said happened, for some reason i didnt realize he was moving down the road, i was thinking he was stopped or just taking off. So i was thinking that at that low of an rpm, had it been fuel there would have been no way it would have all ignited and thats why i was thinking it would have been black smoke had it been fuel.
anyways, ya learn something new everyday

The truck is bone stock, and I pull a 14K trailer with it everyday.
white smoke=unburned fuel or coolant..
is it locked up like it is hydro-locked??? or does it just crank(engine spins) but never starts??
I think injector cause of this...white smoke and the knock...injector knocking??

No hydrolock occured, the engine was turning over, it just wouldn't fire.

". Basically your truck went in to regen but the extra fuel just bypassed through the dpf and out the pipe. Which is why you had white smoke and fuel everywhere. I can never remember the link to the list of tsb's, I believe on the top of the page you can find it under links.
