Cummins turbo whine
I am a first time diesel owner. I have noticed that the turbo, I think, makes a "whine" noise. Is it normal ? and what is it ?

Perfectly normal. Turbo's spin at a very fast RPM (I'm not even sure what that is). So they make a whistling noise. Listen to other guys trucks. And next time you're next to a an 18 wheeler semi truck, just listen. Theirs are really loud.

I can barely hear it in my 08' although the engine brake sounds a bit like a jake on a firetruck.

I cant wait to get the AFE Intake I just ordered from XDP. then ill be able to hear that turbo sing
