Hey Guys,

Need some help and hoping I can find it here. I have a 2008 6.7 Fully deleted. Recently i started having some trouble with the coolant system. After the truck reaches normal operating temperature from driving and i come to a stop and shut the truck off, I can hear a "gurgling" sound in the cab coming from the engine bay. It sounds like there is air in the cooling system and its dripping and gurgling through the pipes.

I tried purging the system by opening the vent pipe allen key and filling the radiator with coolant until it starts seeping out of the vent. This does not solve the problem. After driving around a couple days, the coolant reservoir tank starts to overflow with coolant and spills out of the overflow outlet. I open the radiator cap and it no longer looks to be full or topped off.

- I am not overheating and i am maintaining normal operating temps.
- I can smell coolant every time i park.
- There are no visible leaks anywhere. Completely dry apart from when it overflowed from the reservoir tank.
- Radiator replaced 2 years ago
- EGR cooler etc removed 2 yrs ago.


Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....Jay

 

Sounds like you could have a blown/leaking head gasket... Get a test to check your coolant for exhaust related gases and such.

 

You need a head gasket, guessing right around 200k?
