Codes

Changed the fuel filter last weekend, took one 1,300 mile trip and the next time out on a short personal trip the Check Engine light came on with 3 codes showing up. NO change in performance but immediately took the truck to my dealer. The codes were one Water in fuel and two for the EGR system. The water in fuel indicator on the dash did not light. They advise me that the codes were "stored" codes and that DC says stored codes do not require any further diagnosis. Meaning that only one time the parameters were not met resulting in the codes but nothing current. No explanation for the CEL.
I am being told that I could've "tripped" the water in fuel code just by changing the fuel filter. Got the filters from GenosGarage & the new filters come complete with a new sensor. I buy my fuel from the same place all the time. I've put about 150 miles on it since they cleared the codes & CEL - NO problems. Leaving tonight & hope everything will be alright.
Anyone change the fuel filter themselves on their 6.7l and have this happen??
Thanks.
