check engine light / opinion

my 08 6.7 2500 with Banks cold air intake and Banks DPI back exhaust threw a check engine light, I made an appointment at my dealer for two days later but I still drove the truck.
Then the night before my appointment the light went out and never came back on, when I took it to the dealer I told him the light went out And he said it must have cleared it self, but he checked it for a code anyway
and it came up: ( p2262 turbocharger boost pressure not detected - mechanical )
He tried to tell me that it must have been the Banks CAI that did it,
I told him i've had it on for six months now and never had the light come on
besides how does incoming cool air have anything to do with outgoing boost pressure ? am I wrong ? does anyone have an opinion ?

Gee when I got that code the dealer installed a new turbo, and I have never seen that cel again. That was at 6 thousand miles. I now have 62,000 on her. They at the time told me to run my E-Brake to keep the veins clean.

BS on the CAI and exhaust causing the P2262. It is a know issue with serveral TSBs. Dealer should fix it. I'd see a different dealer if possible, if not call Dodge customer service.

Not True, you have modified your engine and Chrysler can void your warranty if they are told about your modifications, any modification. It all depends on your attitude when you bring it in for warranty work. If you are hostile and belligerent toward the dealership they may tell you to put your truck back to stock configuration and then bring it back with check engine light on. Not saying that they will fix your truck under warranty but in order to properly diag your truck that will need to be done first.

My 08, with 26,600 miles, is in the shop right now for the p2262 cel. Its been run with the engine brake on for at least 26,000 of those miles. This is its first visit for this fault, so it looks like the process is re-calibrate and drive. If the fault re-appears, then de-soot the turbo --> replace when the cel re-appears.
The bummer of all of this is that my local dealership, with excellent service and whom I've dealt with for 30 years, is on the soon-to-be-closed list. I was able to pull in this morning, have one of their guys jump in and ride to work with me and then take the truck back to the shop. They'll even bring it back when the work is complete. Granted, I only work 5 minutes away, but that's the kind of service that this dealership is known for. When they can no longer perform warranty work, the next closest reputable dealership is going to be a min. of 30 miles away. Thanks Chrysler!!

fuel system is calibrated around the stock air filter. Changing that will change fueling and will increase soot load which can lead to 2262 and a few other faults to occur.

That's what the Cummins guys stated at a 6.7 get together they had for Chrysler on soot issues.

Print out the threads on this issue from the website so they know that there are people who actually know their stuff out there. I'm dealing with the same issue right now and my truck is stock. They're using that as an excuse.

I haven't been to the dealer yet but I will be going soon.
