Calling Any Dodge Techs

Recently had the "Perform Service" done on the 6.7L which is changing out the CCV filter and cleaning the EGR valve & cooler. My guy is good for doing a great job but he doesn't know how to get the "Perform Service" message off the overhead. I have to switch the overhead to a different option each time I start the truck to not see it. The manual only refers to the Service requirements documents which I don't have. Is there a procedure that is something like removing the "Oil Change Required" message? Thanks for any help.

Is your ECM up to date with flashes?

They recently recalled another one.

Thumbs up

I just had that " SERVICE SOON " OIL CHANGE REQUIRED " or what ever it was last night. I know on my 08 to get rid of it all you have to is the following ....

1. turn key on , DO NOT START!!!

2. Pump the gas pedal not too fast 3 times within 10 seconds.

3. Then turn off the key , wait then few seconds start and you should be go to go ...

It took me a couple of times to get it cause I did it too fast but I got it on the second try.....

If you havent figured it out yet.

turn key to run

press brake 2 times then press throttle three times within 15 seconds then start the truck should get rid of it.

Hey Bigd6.6, Thanks for answering my question and the procedure to remove the "Perform Service" Just tried it and it worked. It was just a minor PITA but I like things to work like they're supposed to. I'll have to write that one down cause I'm sure I won't remember it by the time it comes around again. Don't know when that will be.

Maybe you could point me to the page number as I searched thru it a couple of times before wasting someone's time on here asking to give me something I could read for myself. Also, I'm talking about the "Perform Service" which is a different procedure than removing the "Oil Change Service Required" message.
But thanks again to bigd6.6 for actually reading my question and responding to what I asked!!

I just had the dealer do my "perform service", all they did was change the ccv filter and blow out the EGR valve ( which was not even very dirty) they did not so much as look at the EGR cooler. my main concern is that the invoice says the service was done, and therefore the rest of the warranty is good. I'm wondering about the long term effects of putting the crankcase vent fumes into the turbo and intercooler. I'm wondering if this eqipment might fall off the day fter the warranty expires.

does anybody know where the ccv filter is located, the manual gives a part number and says filter is on top of motor valve cover. I have that performed service light on, came on at 65500. miles

its on the upper portion of the valve cover ,take your oil cap off take the heat shield off and if i remember right there are 4 bolts that hold the filter to the valve cover. and remove the hoses that filter is not very cheap if i remember right, from dodge its like 60 or 70 bucks

Thanks for the help, I cleared the overhead and found the ccv filter under the valve cover, Take heat sheild off, remove oil cap and remove eight bolts on valve cover, disconnect hose and lift valve cover off and the crank case filter is right there about the size of the valve cover. Going over to dodge this week to see if they stock it.
