Never read it in a manual but try to do it around 30,000 mile intervals.

IIRC we should flush the brake fluid every 2-3 years as it collect moister and it will degrade the brake fluid. I just take it in to a brake shop and pay them to flush it with my fluid that way I know what type of fluid is being used and I don't get dirty.

Thanks guys, I put about 30,000 a year on a truck so I will probably do it once a year. Thanks for the advice.

My Honda says every three years, no mileage limit. Due to the reason for flushing (absorbing moisture), I'd go by time not mileage in this case.

I do mine every 2 years, but the fluid will change color as it takes in moisture.
When the fluid turns a slightly darker color then its time to flush. After 2 years I notice an almost ale appearance. Don't let it get the color of a brown ale, that's a bit too long

Do a search on pressure bleeder - Its the way to go, and you can flush the entire system in 20 min.

DISCLAIMER = I have not performed a flush on the newer trucks. They might have more/less fluid, so the 20 min might not apply.

I bought a K-D Tools bleeder similiar to this one for less than $80.00. I used a turkey baster to suck out all the old fluid from the master cylinder. Refilled with fresh brake fluid and kept bleeding until I had absolutley no air bubbles and fresh fluid at all 4 wheels. It works awesome. My truck is a '98 12 valve 4x4. The K-D tools bleeder I have seems to be discontinued. Here's a link to a Mity-Vac one: http://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDi...okup=MITMV6830

Like I said mine is very similiar. -Glen
