I have a cab chassis with 3.73's 6 speed manual with 19.5" wheels. I pull around 14k lbs and my truck does not like it too much. It does the job just not as well as I expected. But stopping is worse than getting it going. I still have to back and get the exhaust brake switch from the dealer.

Thanks for all the comments....

I guess I will get the factory hitch and the 3.73's. I do plan on going up 1 or 2sizes on the tires but that shouldn't be a problem as I will only tow about once a month and I can always lock in 5th.

mine has the 3.73s.I was told with the 6 speed manual you get the same thing as 4.10s. I understood that 4.10s is only available to the commercial fleet and not regular ones. I tow a two car enclosed trl with a gvw of around 20k with no issues so far.
Let me know what you guys think.

Thats funny about the G/F. I'm a lucky guy I guess, my wife was the one that bought our 3500 MegaCab.

I pull a 15K toyhauler with 3.73. There has been a few times I wanted the 4.10's. But after I figured out my Quad tow box, and just figured I need to relax and let the truck run up around 2500-2800 rpms in 2nd gear at 40-45mph. I'm happy with the way it runs for as many times as I tow a month up steep hills.
Good Luck with the new truck.

I had a g/f that, when I was looking at sleds, she did not want me to buy it because I'd be sledding instead of spending time with her. I dumped her and bought the sled. Now that we got the Dodge, my wife is looking at sleds, camper trailers, bigger boat... life is good...

Girl friend was not SMART.She missed a step to wealth. There ALL happy AFTER you marry them! For a while anyway. Then they HELP you buy things so they can get HALF when and if the time comes.I'd watch out about buying too many things with the wife. She's the SMART one.

Glad your does.Friends of mine are not as happy pulling less weight will stock tires.Sure theirs pull it but at times its a not comfertable or with out strain or so I'm told.More so with the auto trucks.Theirs a reason 4.10s are a option!
