ambient temp. sensor cel
ambient temp. sensor cel
Well for the fourth time in 2 months I was back at the dealer this morning.
I ca'nt complain to much as this truck has been flawless.
It might be coincedence but it's like CEL problems since i have had the G30 recall done. The first time the CEL went on @ 9000 miles it was the ambient air temp. sensor..I'm not sure what the code number was, but they replaced the sensor. Two weeks later, CEL again, this time same code, but, it came up as air box air temp sensor. From what the tech. explained to me there was a programming/software flaw from DC that confused the two sensors. So they changed the air box temp. sensor. Today, CEL again. Now they have the shop forman in on this. After about an hour I get the call that I have to remove the programmer from my truck or my warranty will be void. So I explain that it is'nt a programmer, but for monitoring purposes only, due to the fact that DC ca'nt afford to put a EGT, transmission or boost gauges in the truck. So he said he understands now that it's for monitoring only but there might be a conflict with the water temp. sensor on the commander and the sensors on the trucks computer. Does this make any sense? Sorry for the long winded story but there is alot to it. So the truck goes back Monday so they can let it sit for more than 8 hrs. so they can monitor the trucks sensors after it sits awhile. I'll let you know what they say/find Tues. Forman also said there were more flashes due out and that this time they (DC) were going to notify us by mail.
