I thought I read that all you need to do to add Cruise Control to a non-stock equipped truck is to buy the switches. I tried that and it didn’t work. Are there other parts and/or programming that is required?
The feature will need to be enabled in the body computer. You could have a dealer enable the feature, or purchase AlfaOBD software and OBDLink MX+ adapter and do it yourself. Either way will cost about the same, but the second option is much better. The OBDLink adapter comes with it's own software for reading codes on any OBDII vehicle and the AlfaOBD is dealership level software for 2006 or newer Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and RAM.
AlfaOBD software can be downloaded to any Android device from Google Play and the adapter can be found on Amazon. The neat part is that you can download a demo version that will help to get you familiar with the software. If you go this route, I can help you with screenshots on how to make changes.

I bought the system. Can you screen shot the way to activate the Cruise Control? Thanks
Here ya go: When you get this far, go to the bottom tab and scroll all the way down to the last option an select MY2006-12 Non-PowerNet. at the next screen select connect. After you're connected, tap on the small car icon at the bottom right of the screen and you'll see this pop up. scroll all the way down the bottom and select Car configuration change. Tap select option and this will pop up. Select cruise feature. Change the value to Set and then tap Start. If all goes well, you'll see a notification that the changes were successful.
After you made the changes, you should verify they were successful by turning off the key and start over. Once you get connected again, just cruise through the menus again and make sure the item is still showing set. It will look like the second to last picture if everything went alright.
Since your truck is a base model, there's lots of features you could add.
On my '09 2500 QC 4x4:
enabled high idle feature (1100-1500RPM via cruise control buttons)
enabled quad headlights (allows high and low beams together)
disabled fog light dropout (allows fogs to stay on with high beams)
disabled TPMS (your C&C isn't equipped with this)
disabled quick lane change (annoying 3 blink turn signal)
To add cruise control to your 2007.5 6.7 truck, you may need more than just the switches. You might need other parts and programming. It's best to consult a mechanic or a dealership for specific instructions.
