6.7 misses
6.7 misses
'07 with an auto tranny and 6.7 engine that misses once in a while. sometimes going down the road sometimes leaving a stop sign it will hesitate. this might happen once a day, multiple times a day or maybe once every three days. no codes show up when i have it scanned. I ran it it in third gear for 45 miles to clean the particulate filter. not sure if that helped or not cause the miss didn't happen for a week after i done it.but it is back and has been acting up again. i haven't added anything to this truck it is factory stock. anybody have this happen to them or any ideas what it could be? the one answer i got was to run it until it quits then they would know where to look to fix it.

Check your tail pipe for any black soot inside pipe. There should not be any soot there If soot is present you may have injector and DPF issue. Seems weird that no codes are setting, I have seen ground connection wire to the battery on drivers side come loose and cause this issue may want to check that first. Clean and tighten all battery connections remove grounds on both batterys first before cleaning connections.
A buddy of mine had the same problem recently
and it ended up being an #4 injector. He's got the same year but fully deleted. He went on about three to four months without any codes and i believe one day he finally got a code. I am not sure if it was a code or he got an oil analysis back, i will have to ask him when i see him. Prob something you do not want to hear.

My truck has been doing it for two years now. Seems to me it happens at light throttle and seemingly lower in the rev range...if I step into the throttle, it goes away and everything is smooth. Most times it's very subtle, sometimes it's pretty jerky. Almost like a bad plug or wire...but we know that's not the problem. My warranty is up in the spring (it's in storage for the winter) and I'll take it in before then to see if they will diagnose anything. These mechanics seem to be hung up on the OBD reader and if it isn't throwing a code, there's nothing wrong with the truck. Maybe related or not, I notice when I'm using the engine brake and it cuts out due to low rpm or me touching the throttle, then I quickly get into the throttle, it backfires or burps or something. I see the boost gauge jump up and hear the pop. I'm torn about putting in an H&S to delete the EGR before I know this thing is running right.
