2009 2500 4x4 transmission hard shift question

hello all.. i have a new 2009 dodge 2500 4x4 with 6.7 and it has like 2000 miles on it... i was noticing recently that when i floor it from a start ..i get the turbo lag and all that ive owned dieself before so thats not my question..its when it shifts from 1st to second it feels like there is a slip when it decides to shift (pedal to floor whole time during shift) the engine will rev a little higher for may be half a second(touches the redline)(you can hear the engine sound different during the shift) then shifts into second..... does anyone see this too and is this ok with a brand new truck? is it just how this tranny shifts or do some out there have trucks that just do it smoothly...thanks in advance

I tend to think it is not the trans as much as it is something that governs the RPM and is normal. The trans seems to unlock and then lock when it nears the redline which drops the RPM at that point as well.

Most likely normal. You don't need to be doing that anyway
