08 truck has 6.7 with hickups

08 truck has 6.7 with hickups
i have the 6 spd auto, 6.7
with a warm engine, the engine brake is on. driving real slow 2nd or 3rd gear, the engine can't decide if it want's to add fuel or engage the engine brake. this repeats untill i push the button to dis-engage the engine brake.
this has only happened a few times. but would like to know if anyone else has had something like this occur.
