YaaHoo!!!!!!!!!! :)

I would like to say "Many, Many Thanks" to all the members of this forum.

Even though I didn't post any questions, you guys were a great help to me yesterday. I spent many hours over the last couple of weeks doing a lot of research, and the information I found here was very helpful, and very encouraging.

I finally got the courage yesterday to pull the valve cover off and do a valve lash adjustment. I had only done it once before on a former vehicle (gasser), but the diesel engine was a different animal to me.

I have 105,000 miles on my truck and was noticing lately that it seemed to be kinda noisy, so that is when I started researching the project. A lot of people here were very encouraging to others who wondered about doing a valve adjustment, so I thought I could do it myself also.

I took my time and checked and double checked all the measurements and when I got everything back together again, I, with some trepidation, finally hit the starter. It fired right up and I could tell instantly that it was a whole lot quieter. I didn't take it for a test ride yet, but that will happen today.

Again, many thanks to the many members on this board who unknowingly help me with this first major project on the great Cummins engine that we have in our trucks.
