Anybody having any problems with the XZT2? Been thinking of buying one, I want something to help with towing a 14k trailer and also increace mileage. Is the XZT2 as good as they claim?

Do you have the Quad Commander ?

Anyway last summer I towed my 13k 5er with the XZT before upgrading to the 2 series and It does a very nice job. If you have the Commander then there a different levels available.

It is a hard decision between the Quad and Smarty products they both do a good job and if the time comes they will stack together. It just depends on adjust on the fly VS a programer that seems to do a little better at keeping EGT down.

 

Dont have the commander. Been thinking about getting one do you use yours much ?

I think the XZT2 and the Commander are a great setup for towing. I had the regular XZT for over 2 years and recently upgraded to the XZT2 box.

 

Yes, I am always reading the Commander's monitor for egt,boost,rail pressure,fuel pressure and sometime I will monitor the trans temp. The Quad Commander allows you to control the xzt to 3 level plus turn the XZT off. For example on the XZT 2 you can run a milage program to improve milage and then push a button ( on the fly) on the Commander add power. You can set parameters with the Commander that will cause the Commander to flash for a warning and you can also set parameters for defueling to prevent damage.
