Whend did they change the NV5600 to G56

Whend did they change the NV5600 to G56

I am in the market for a used 3rd gen and was wondering when did they switch from NV to G56.

Jan 1, 2005 is the "official" date, if I recall correctly.

05 could be either way look at shifter to tell Reverse left and down + G56 reverse right and up + NV 5600
