Question What Transfer case fluid to use?

What fluid are you guys using for your transfer case? I went to autozone and they have a Mobil 1 synthetic but it didn't say ATF+4. I just purchased the diff fluid and transmission fluid (Mobil1 1 and Penzoil Synchromesh). Now all I need is the x-fer case fluid and I can get started with my weekend work. Thanks.

FYI: Autozone marked up the price of the Mobil 1 diff fluid from 6.99 to 7.99. Both stores I went to were still stickered on the shelf as 6.99 but rang up 7.99. They gave it to me for the sticker price . So, if any of you guys need diff fluid get to Autozone before they resticker their shelves. The one by my house removed the stickers after I told them about the price difference. Hey every dollar counts....towards some new toys!

Redline C+ATF would work for the transfer case. I cant comment on any other brands.

I changed mine to the Amsoil ATF ( Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid), no complaints.

I used the OEM ATF+4 from the dealer. It only took about 2.5 qts. It pricey but warranty friedly.

I went to Auto Zone, Pep Boys, & Advance Auto but no luck with ATF+4. I was told it is the same as ATF+3 but why then have ATF+4? Can you use the Mobil 1 synthetic in our x-fer case? I'm trying to finish this work up before my Eagles play on Sunday . Thanks in advance.

I used Amsoil ATF in mine. I wouldn't be afraid to use M1 ATF in it either.

I use Redline C+, it is ATF+4 rated (says it on the label, not on the website) I have to shift into 4H at least twice a day and it goes in and out smoother than any truck I have ever had. No kidding! and I have had a few trucks. I can also tell you that when I switched to Redline in all the drivetrain it became much quieter on the pavement. If it weren't for the noise from the BFG's you would think you were in a caddy. Just my .02

Amsoil ATF has worked great for me. I like the synthetic stuff since the t-case is always turning & 1/2 of my time is in the interstate, so it gets HOT.
