what do these codes mean????

My Moms new 07 5.9 w/ 6K miles on it is throwing these 2 codes and sometimes will not start. First is a P2509, and the other is a P0513

The 2509 is some kind of a data loss error but I can't find the other. I know it needs to go in to the shop, but I still like to know what the heck is going on

P0513 has something to do with the Sentry key system, I think.

P0513=Incorrect Immobilizer Key. New key cut lately or alarm system installed? Hope this helps a little.

From what Iv found, the 0513 code has to do with the vehicle speed and idle control.

0513 can be caused just from a simple miscommunication between the key and truck. I believe I caused my truck to throw this code on purpose. I'm a code checking nut and check regularly. I checked once after shutdown and no codes. Fired it up for a short trip and tried to check after the very next shutdown. Only this time I had the door open and I'm pretty sure I cycled the key too fast. After realizing you cant check codes with the door open, I closed the door, checked and up came 0513!

Its supposed to clear itself after a few starts. Last time I checked it was still there. I've got the Smarty and can clear it but I'm going to see if it'll clear on its own. I'm laid up right now with a broken femur so I've not drove the truck in a little while or I'd go out right now and see if its still there.

I got that 2509 code recently and it came up only because I was unhooking my batteries, its a data loss error code, i don't think it has anything to do with your problem. Your problem is miscommunication between the sentry system and the keys....
