weird 1-2-1 shifting????

in my 48re, when iam pulling out sometimes, it will shift to 2nd like normal, but it i give it barley more throttle, it will downshift to 1st, then right back to 2nd....and i think sometimes it does it from 2nd to 3rd too...is this normal hunting for gears or what???? it just does it sometimes, there's one spot particular on my road thru a curve that it does it.... its seems to go from 3rd to 2nd, then back to 3rd fast there... thanks

why do you think its bands? i think it is all computer controlled, and when you push the pedal down for more throttle is downshifts because of your current throttle position, and mph. then if upshifts to 3rd when you meet the throttle postion, and mph criteria for 3rd gear.

someone please correct me if i am wrong.

It is the throttle valve cable or TV...what I mentioned above. And yes if it is not adjusted properly it will give you wierd shifts. It sould be adjusted so that it has a 1/16 to 1/8 inch of play at ful throttle.
