Warranty Work

Just curious as to how many of you have had your trucks back to the dealer for warranty work.

Are you counting recalls?

I think another good poll would be "Have you had your truck in to have a problem corrected and did they fix it"?

Had truck in but was told this is normal, nothing wrong!!
I am 0 for 5.

Had mine in during the first 6 months to fix the A/C, which never worked. There was a leak and after recharging it and adding dye, they replaced the condenser. But the problem appears to be solved.

Thumbs down

Yes, once on the 3rd week of ownership, and once on the 4th week. both for code 0191, low fuel pressure. The dealer had to contact STAR to get permission to order the pressure sender. 3-5 days shipping. However, the truck runs just great and the mileage is the same.

Had the tranny recalls done and the alt bracket TSB done. Took them three day to do that. Not real happy with that dealer.

Used my Dad's dealer to have the tranny serviced. From drive in to drive out took 2 hours and very happy with that dealer. Unfortunatly that dealer is 400 miles away.

Took mine in Feb. 03 for the clutch rattle at about 4500 miles and they told me it was normal. Then took it back in late April or early May of this year at 24000 miles and since the dealer had documented it the first time under 12000 miles they performed the TSB under warranty, otherwise they wouldn't have. They also didn't say anything about my gauges or exhaust and I took my EZ off a week and a half before my appointment so they wouldn't deny the repair under warranty. Funny thing was, they had a book of all Dodge products dyno charts and on the back of the cummins dyno was a cummins+EZ dyno!

Had mine in for leak at rear of Trannie. They replaced seal, yoke, and U-joint. They don't carry any parts in stock. So it becomes a time thing. My work truck, so I need it.

03 3500 dually 4x4 QC Laramie. 12K miles.

6 visits for the A/C over a year, I think its fixed now... new compressor, sensors, coil, blower housing.... 2 visits for the clearance light leaks. 2 for the power windows binding up. Plus the recalls and TSB's which took two visits. Had the power steering hose TSB done, vibration remains from 65 to 70 mph. The dealer fixed some dash noises. The A/C was a real pain, the dealer had a very hard time finding the real problem. They just threw parts at it.

Truck runs good now, except for some droan which I can live with. My 98 had zero problems, I guess this truck makes up for the trouble free truck.

The dealer did provide a free loaner/rental truck three times. About two weeks worth. Three Ford SuperCrews

Kinda stinks when you need to pull something, those things are more like cars than trucks. Better than nothing though. At least we got a loaner.
