Glasier Diesel has 2micron setups, as stated. I made my own from a perma-cool filter housing and will be using a Cat fuel filter. This is mounted after the stock filter and before the cp3, obviously.

Ok i feel stupid for asking this, but hey thats how i learn... little confused here, So we are supposed to go with at least a 2 micron filter, and genos sells both a 7 and 10, well are those ok to use or am i reading number backwords/forwards/sideways..... How about a link to the darn ol filter i need in my 05????? i need to change mine out anyways...

2 microns is smaller than 7 or 10.

The lower the number the smaller the particals

sooo a 2 micron will be better than a 7 or 10....

So what the truck comes with stock isn't good enough?

DC buys the engines from Cummins with no warranty. Cummins builds the engines and specs the fuel systems to Bosch and installs it. Where in this operation does DC ENGINEER anything on the FUEL SYSTEMS??? [verymad] [dummy]


The Bosch recommendations for diesel have been higher than what we have for years. We started seeing the effects on the VP trucks and as the pressures climbed to the CR range it has now reached a critical point. Three years ago the idea the fuel was a problem was poo pooed and blamed on Bosch, Cummins, DC, anything but the real culprit. Nothing was done about fuel quality, nothing changed. Now that every body has figured out diesels are for real and is now buying one, warranty costs are adding up and being denied.

Guess where uprisings start. It ain't the board room! [nonono]

gotcha, now anyone with a link to the right 2 micron filter with the proper rated flow and blah blah blah that would be great.

As far as I know, there is no filter for the stock canister that will filter to 2 microns. YOU HAVE TO ADD A SEPERATE SYSTEM. I pieced together my own setup and it works well. You can get something similar at GlacierDiesel. Talk to Rich, the owner... I wouldn't go any other way unless you want to put it together yourself as I did... [duhhh]
It's very easy to install also. Maybe an hours time...

OK, i am new to the diesel arena. Which on of the kits at Glaciers do i need for my 06 if i want to add the 2 micron filtration?

When you say Fleetguard Premiuim do you mean the Stratopore? You have the same part number here in your edit for regular and premium so I thought I would ask the question.

this is ridiculous. All because of them tree hug........... aww calm down eric, calm down so whos gonna be the first to piece together a 2 micron filter for our stock canister so us mechanically inclined (or whatever) won't have to build something seperate..... come on, someone wants to make some money!

I changed the numbers on edit, I got that off Genos site they list a premium and standard filter.

I went to the Cummins/Fleetguard site and they don't give any micron specs for the Stratopore so I was wondering if the premium was indeed the Stratopore or not. I'm not sure now.
