vibration seat and steering wheel

Does anyone have a vibration at idle that you can feel in the steering wheel and the seats?

I have noticed this within the last few days, nothing major just a slight buzz that was not there before.

the truck just hit 33,500 miles.

I think their might be a TSB for that. they tie a big weight on one of the power steering lines.

Mine does that at about 2000RPM...At about 2500 it's as smooth as a gas motor. At idle it doesn't seem too bad. But I might be used to it. 56,000 miles.

Mine does the same thing once in a while. Try running some fuel additive in your next tank, preferably one that disperses water. Seems to clear it up for me for a while.

My 03 had a Kazoo like buzz in the dash, right at 2,000 RPM. After a couple of trys, I suggested this steering hose TSB, which solved the problem.

The updated hose is supposed to cure vibration in the steering wheel and/or pedals, which in some trucks only happens around 2,000 RPM...

I think some of the 04's might have also gotten the old style hose.

The hose in question is the pressure supply line between the power steering pump and the hydrobooster. The old style is just a straight piece of line, and the new one has a big metal weight, and a metal crimp joint mid span, about adjacent to the battery.

My vibration is at idle and is not only in the steering wheel, but can also be felt thru the seats.

This only started happening about a week ago.

I run a mix of silver ps and mmo mix in every tank.

Jeff in TD, thanks for that info. I'm going to get mine fixed ASAP. Is that a recall and covered under warranty? Or will I have to pay for it? I'll buy the parts and do it myself if I have to pay for labor.

No need to worry about this. The 3rd gens came with the massaging seat option. You must have turned it on by accident. The button is on the door by the window switches. It's a nice option to have after a hard day of work

Stock03, it's not a recall, just a technical service bullitin- basically a notice to technicians about a known problem, and what the solution is.

If your truck is still under full warranty, it should be covered. If not, the link to the TSB lists the part number of the required hose...
