valves

how often does the valves need to be adjusted?

What year truck? 24v's need it around 150k miles and 12v's well I don't know because I only deal with properly valved engines.

i did mine at 120k and they weren't off by much

Every 100,000 as a rule of thumb, or sooner as needed.

thanks guys! its a 03 2500 cummins srw 4x4 all stock. removed silencer ring
truck has 75,000. sounds like top end rattle. very faint. maybe just pairnoid

It would not be a bad idea to check yours a 75K it is not hard to do and is cheap insurance. I do my 24v every 50k and the 12v at 25k. Who knows you might even pick up a little on your mpg.

i had mine adjusted at 50K, and i didnt think it was loud before, i just had it done while it was in the shop.. and man, afterwards it sounded like a new truck, i couldnt believe it could get any quieter....

I have got 110,000 on mine and would like to know how to do a valve adjustment if anyone has pretty good directions. Have to replace brakes tomm. May as well adj. valves while I'm at it.
