Valair Clutch

Does anybody have a Valair kevlar/ceramic or ceramic clutch? How do they feel? Are they Grabby? I had a full kevlar in my 97 and really liked it. Any thoughts are appriciated.

Honestly from what I've read, I would stay away from Valair, and stick with one of the other well known clutch manufacturers..

I just replaced my stock clutch at 117k with the full kevlar. I was looking at the clutch that was just a little stronger than the stocker so I could run my programmer more confidently, but the guys at Valair sold me the kevlar at the same price so I went with it. First Valair clutch was making a metal on metal noise when shifting so they sent me a whole new setup, hydro's and all. Since the sescond one went in all has been fine. However, I wish I had gone with the organic? one. It is a little too grabby, jerky for me when in tight spots and backing up. Kevin and Dan were great to deal with though and depending on how long this one lasts and pricing when the time comes for a new one, I will be a return shopper.

There are several people that I personally know who are running the Valair clutches with NO complaints whatsoever in the 2006 trucks. Currently, I am looking into clutches because I know one will be in my not too distant future. I have driven an '06 with a Valair DD clutch in it, I have to say it's a very nice feeling and sounding clutch. I have yet to drive a truck with a DD Southbend clutch, and once I do have that experience, I will make my choice from there.

I suppose it's all in what website you go to as to who makes the top of the list and who is at the bottom. We all have to remember that many people use these sites to just complain, you don't hear very much out of satisfied customers on average. This site has many people who are on here all the time and usually their opinions are not coming from the complaint department side.
