Using Tow/Haul mode for quicker warmups???

Anything wrong with highway driving in Tow/Haul mode without actually towing anything?

Seems to warm up the truck quicker in frigid temps, i.e., higher RPM's.

Any speed restrictions while driving in this mode?

How fast can one drive in this mode?

How about going in and out of this mode while moving?

Is that OK? Any restrictions on that?

Thanks,

DT.

I stay in tow/haul mode most of the time in city traffic. I use it to help warm up quicker also, I drive 55mph or so with out any problems empty. Of course with your 4:10 gears you are gonna be at a lot higher rpms than my 3:73 and BFG 315s, but it wont hurt anything.

Tow/Haul

I run this mode most of the time to lock up the tranny. Warms up a lot faster with a cold weather front. I made mine for about 7 dollars and some sewing time. I'll get a picture, it keeps the tranny at about 100 degree's, the block at 190, stays there, no up and down as the thermostat opens. Really nice. Even carboard will work, anything to enable the block to run warmer helps a lot.

I was dicking with the tow haul this morning,4 degrees out. 55mph is as fast as I wanna go with the 4:10 rear. I really didnt see a differance,at least with my driving. Winter front in the very near future. I told my wife,no more underwear and sweaters I will never wear for Christmas ,go to geno's!!!!

It is recommended and advised not to go over 2,000 RPM's until the engine is at operating temperature to avoid engine damage.
