T&T- My bad, you were right. I failed to mention my setting and the TST will fool the computer on other settings. For what its worth, I just drove about 150 hwy miles this morning doing between 70 -75 mph. Overhead was reading 19 mpg at the end!!! I was a bit worried about the computer being off and it may be, but I have done approx 190 miles on about 1/4 of a tank which it never has done. I'm loving this new TSB so far.

That's encouraging news! I made my appointment for the re-flash. I fibbed and told them I had smoke in the morning. The poor mileage, I guess, is a matter of opinion. I get about 15 mpg in town...10 mpg towing. I think my unloaded mpg could be better...I'm hoping!

I was suppose to have it done yesterday. However, there was some confusion... Long story.

Anybody know how to confirm if I got the 18-037-04 update?

I would also like to know how we know for sure it was done. I think they are supposed to place a sicker of the TSB on the inside of the engine compartment somewhere. but isn't there a way to check the codes on the instrument panel?

thanks for any input

I don't think anyone as stated if they got it done with 500 - 1000 miles on the truck yet... Mine has 670 miles.. The service guy stated it is not even broken in and to check the overhead by the hand cal.. but in the end he said if I want it flashed to bring it in...

If anyone lives in Ft. Worth vincity, then take it to the 5star on the south end. I took mine there, had a nice chat with the Service Manager, (not the advisor, his name was Joe (hispanic guy great to deal with, I gave him atta boy to his boss while he was standing there)) And they did'nt hassle me, I told em white smoke, and low mileage (I was getting about 7mpg with my trailer) I also told them about the vibration @ 72-73 mph the tech ordered a new drive shaft with no problem at all. I told them that I would send everyone I knew to that advisor and tech.

If you want the name or location of the dealership PM me, I don't think I can post it on here without getting in trouble.

I would love to get the flash but my dealer says it wont be available here untill November. Oh the pain living in the frozen north (or having to deal with the only Dodge dealer in 350 miles)

I don't think the TSB said anything about only being available in the lower 48... I can't say that I believe the guy. Might want to push him more on it.

TSB 18-037-04 according the TSB is available as of September 27, 2004. It can be downloaded by the dealer from the DealerCONNECT system.

I ask about the TSB and they checked and said yes they could get and apply it. It took my dealer a little under two hours to complete all checks and apply the TSB.

Here is a link to the TSB in pdf format.

I think you are right. I reread the first part of the TSB and it says it is not available outside the US and Canada until November. Guess I will have to call again hope I get someone who knows what is going on. Checked my engine serial #s and it definately qualifies for the TSB. Oh the pain living in the frozen north.

i dont know if im sold on the flash yet or not. I had it The overhead on a 100 mile trip at 60 with cruise set on some hills in western iowa 18.9 high of 20.1 on flats. up from my 15.1 to 14.6 on the same route before, I shoulda filled up. Cuase on the next 100 was at 75, and when i filled the hand calc said 16.9, so overall my mileage has improved. but my overhead said 18.1 when i filled. So it went from being exact within .2 to just a bit over a gallon off. Ive put about 100 on today so i might refill just to see what happens.
