TSB 18-022-07 and Torque Dog

Does anybody know if there is a linkage between the 18-022-07 ECM update and the #42013 Torque Dog for an '03 not working properly. If I take the module out everything is fine. If I put it in I have a hard time making any revs over 2k. It ask like the ECM is overriding the Torque Dog and defueling. Even when I have the lever control on the Torque Dog set at 0 hp, it's still acting like it's not getting fuel. As I stated before, if I take the module out completely, everything is fine.

Suggestions welcome. Thanks

I don't have first hand info, but I have read that ECM updates sometimes screw up after market performance boxes and tuners operation. Ask the TD manufacturer, they should know and have a fix if it is the case.

The problem is I've contacted BD and the best they can tell me is my fuel filter needs to be changed. They insist that the unit was tested and it worked fine when it left their facility. I guess I'll have to call the dealer and see if I can get the TSB removed.

BTW, that TSB does bad things with the fan. My truck used to engage the fan if the air conditioner was on and I was at a stop light. After shifting into second the fan would disengage. After the TSB, the fan now doesn't disengage until you hit overdrive. My finance asked me what the heck was wrong with my truck the first time she heard it.

Did you have the box hooked up when you had the truck re flashed? If so, possible damage could have been done to the box...hopefully someone with a more knowledgeable answer will chime in!

No, the box was not connected when the the updated code was flashed to the ECM. I called the dealer this morning and they said, "We cannot remove the updated code." I guess means I have a BD TD #42013 for sale. Sure going to miss the extra horses.

I just looked up the TSB and it says it is for 2007 5.9's, and not earlier trucks?

Any benefit for earlier models?

Packard8, you are correct! I had the TSB applied last fall and sometimes my memory isn't so good. The actual TSB was 18-022-06 which was superseded by 18-022-07. Sorry for the mixup.
