Enlighten me please. I went to work leaving my 2000 1 ton
parked. Got home and it cranked fine but when I put it in
reverse it wouldn't pull at all. I put it in neutral and after
a minute or so it shifted fine. Please tell me what is wrong
as it's driving me crazy.

Tks. Danny

Unfortunately, this is normal for the 48RE transmissions.... The torque convertor drains down rather quickly ... mine will do it overnight.. Couple that with the fact that the 48re does not circulate fluid when in park.... it takes several seconds after you move the shifter from park for the convertor to fill back up.
I usually start my truck and immediately shift to neutral.... give it about 10-15 seconds and it will be ready to go..
Just dont pak on a hill and have something important right behind you the next morning... you might run it over..
