Transmission Upgrades

I am going to be pulling the trans, hopefully by March, and am slowly collecting all the parts needed.

Daily Driver, Will tow a 6,000 pound deep-v fishing boat 3-4 times per month

Never will sled pull

Never will see the 1/4 mile track

I need to order some more parts....

So far, I have:
BD Black FlexPlate
Opie Billet Input
Mag Hytech Double Deep Trans Pan
Billet 4.2 Apply Lever
Billet Strut
Billet Front Servo Cover

Where can I get other parts or do I need other parts like a billet front drum,
billet servo, billet kickdown, carbon band, etc

I will soon be purchasing a Goerend valve body and Goerend triple disk torque converter, but is there anything else?

THANKS!

Add to that list:

Billet front band anchor

Billet rear servo (must have!)

Billet front servo (you will get the good cover with it and if everything else is billet...)

High energy rigid front band

If you are building for longevity and firm positive shifting, don't use kevlar on any of the frictions. Check on the carbon fiber and how grabby it is. It will wear longer with just high energy material.

Unless you are going big power you don't need the billet front drum or any other hard parts. The parts to put 5 clutches in the direct drum would be nice but not neccessary if need to make choices.

I just need ONE band anchor for the entire trans?

SO there is just ONE front and ONE rear servo?

I did check on the carbon bands (is this the "high energy rigid front band that you are talking about or no?).....how many bands does the stock trans use, or how many bands will I need for the rebuild?

Sonnax Dodge 16% Oversize Intermediate Super Servo, Servo Cover and Pin. Fits 727, 46RE, 47RE, 48RE, 518, 618, 46RH and 47RH. New eight sealing ring design for a super seal. The overall result is more holding force in 2nd, firmer 1-2 and 2-3 shifts that become firmer under load

Is this what I need?

That would work nicely, or, go here and search for #3S2 and #3-618 rear servo. All are better than stock and will address the leaks form higher pressures.

Only the front band use and anchor, the rear band sets up differently and has beefier parts.

Yes, you have a front (intermediate) servo and rear(low\reverse) servo.

On the page you referenced, search for #4NR and #4N. I THINK the #4N is the one you want but I would call and make sure. Kevlar bands are REAL aggessive, not sure about the carbon fibers. They may be between kevlar and stock material.

Thats the same as on PATC page, in fact its a PATC product on Ebay. Better than OE and has the o-ring for the cover. Will probbaly do all the billet one will do in your application.

I emailed PATC to get the low down on the differences. Will forward any answers I get on the material types and use.

Ok, so:

(1) Reverse Band

(1) Rigid front band

(1) Performance Rear Band Servo with Pin

(1) Heavy Duty Band Anchor

(1) Oversize Intermediate Super Servo, Servo Cover and Pin Kit

(1) Billet 4 Ring Accumulator Piston

Are the quantities what I need?

Anything else on the list?
