transmission temp guage

Is there a plug in the factory trans pan to hook up a temp guage?

My '03 47RE has a governor port plug that's easy to remove, sensor screws right in (with an adapter available from Diesel Manor). No drilling/tapping/brazing. Seems accurate too.

Although, after doing my 30,000 mile tranny service last night, a drain plug in the pan sure would've been nice. But on the other hand, doing it once every three years or so might not justify it.

Have you thought about adding a Mag-Hytec or similar pan? It offers a place to mount the probe and a way to drain the fluid too. This one holds 4 quarts over stock. Just a thought. I know they are not cheap.
