Transmission leak - cold weather?

Well I walked out the other day and noticed a trail from underneath ( can post pics later this evening) So I crawl and see where its coming from and it appears where the tranny mates to the engine. Little pinkish and smells like atf. appears to be dripping at a good rate (drip/min probably) try to see exactly where its coming from and from the pass fender looking in it seems to be right behind the turbo exhaust. Never had a problem before, nothing done to it and from the ground it seems that its maybe only been this weekend. Which was in the teens overnight. So my thinking is maybe with the contraction factor of the metals that a small gap may have opened up for seepage. Check the level (cold) and it seems over filled, so drive it around till warm and check it, still seems high. But now there appears to be no leak. Sat and watched for several mins. Also havn't seen a drop since.

any ideas? similar experience? fortunately still have 30k miles on warranty.

I bet it isn't trans fluid and it is coolant. Look at the back of the block on the pass side and see if that small coolant hose is leaking. It can run down and drip from where you stated. There are many threads on that small hose leaking. SOme folks tighten the clamps and others have replaced the hose.

small, short hose at rear of block on passenger side, behind and under turbo
clamps on both ends -- tighten both of them

Hmm......good point, i forgot the coolant was pink. I'll check that today. The color was considerably lighter than ATF. That makes me feel alittle better thanks. I'll post some pictures this evening.
