Trans trouble, what happened??
Trans trouble, what happened??
I was driving home from work tonight everything normal no noise no vibration.
I pulled into town went to down shift and it was really hard to get from 4th to 3rd,
put truck into nuetral at the light, when the light turned i went to put it in gear and it would not go into any gear, shifter would move side to side but not up or down.
I finally had to shut the truck down to get into gear, by the time i got home the truck seemed to shift ok again, i'm going to try to drive it again tomorrow with AAA card in hand just in case.

If you sit at traffic lights all the time holding the clutch down then your pilot bearing is probably worn out and dragging the mainshaft on the transmission. Also check and make sure your fluid level is ok. Oh, and one more thing. I did have a truck come in the shop a few months back w/ similar symptoms and it turned out one of the springs in the clutch disc fell out into the pressure plate. Good luck.
I almost always bump into neutral and coast up to a light and sit there out of gear.
I drove the truck to work Fri . , 90 miles round trip, no problems ? i guess i drive some more today and see what happens.
