Basically "fixes' that were either not noticed when the vehicle hit production, problems that arose after some wear, who knows!? I just know I have fixed a ton of vehicles that had odd little nuisnaces with flash updates. Tip in stumbles, unnecessary CEL, surge with cruise - you may not even notice a problem that these updates will point out, but it'll be gone afterwords!

the experiances i have had with this concern, is that the governor soleniod valve R/R in the TSB only works for a short time, it is a software issue that DM has not been allowed to fix because the governor pressure is a emission standard, the hunt from one/two gears is do to the rise and fall of line pressure compared to governor/throttle pressure.
i have fixed this concern by raising line pressure high enough to overtake the throttle pressure drop, (about 1/2 turn on the line pressure set screw), i basicaly make a DIY shift kit.

Is this something I can do on my 04.0? Im going to do a DIY service starting tomorrow morning. Change filter, adjust bands, DIY flush, then maybe turn this set screw just under 1/2 turn.

Is the set screw readily accesible, or is this inside the VB, really not looking to go there.

What else could/should I do? Thanks!!

yeah it is easy to get to with the pan down, its located on the driver's side front corner on the trans, it is a 3/16 allen screw, you will probly have to get some channel locks on it, unless you have a super short allen wrench.

this is a basic Trango shift kit minus the springs but does the some basic thing, as long as the line pressure is raised just a bit, 1/2 turn, everything is cherry.

let me specify, though, i can does this under warranty with correct paper work, this specific repairs ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY! as this is a MODIFICATION of factory components!

Guys i'm having the exact same issue with my 06, with 26000 miles on it, although I have not brought it in yet, nor performed the 25K service, it only started doing it after I hooked up a bully dog to it. I've also got the monitor on my truck and my tranny temps have never gotten above 120 degrees. I was at a loss about this, but it seems to be fairly common, Please enlighten me on the fix for this. Or should I just jerk all the Bully dog stuff out and bring it in for warrenty work?

Now i'm assuming that you would turn that screw in a half turn, Correct? In order to raise the line pressure. Thanks for the help guys, this is a gr8 place

My truck feels like it already has a shift kit a real sloppy one too. Along with the low speed surge as well. I'm not to in to the do it yourself stuff on this truck so what are my options.

Turning the screw counter clockwise increases pressure, while turning it clockwise lowers it. One complete turn changes line pressure 1-2/3 psi

After four times to the two dealerships they finally found the problem and who would've guessed it was low solenoid pressure. I only told them that on the second visit and brought a copy of the TSB the third. But, they're the proffesionals right... Let's see how long it lasts.
