I just bought a 04.5 dually and I am going to be towing a bunch with it. On my 07 5.9 auto has two different modes which are 1st tow mode and 2nd over drive cut off. I noticed that on my 04.5 the tow mode is just like the 07s Over Drive cut off. Here's my questions, can I still tow heavy loads with out it being on tow mode on my 04.5? Are there any mods that can be done in order for it to work like the 07s setup?

 

the reason for OD lockout...is when hauling @ sub highway speeds it does NOT keep shifting into OD...when you get up to speed then you hit the button
and let it shifts into OD

 

You don't have to use the tow/haul mode at all unless it starts shifting up and down.
