Tow/Haul

I have a 2004.5 Ram 2500 Automatic with 3.73 gears a 6 inch lift and 37" tires. There are 15,000 miles on my truck. Is it safe to drive around EVERYWHERE ALL OF THE TIME with the tow/haul mode on until i have enough $$$ to get a gear change?

On your truck you really dont have a tow haul. What your tow haul does is lockout your 4th gear. Just like all previous years OD OFF setting . Starting in 05 tow haul was a tow haul.
Yes you can run indefinetly with your overdrive locked out , but why???? Doesnt make any sence to do that. Unless your towing in conditions that dont like 4th gear .

First, welcome.
Fuel mileage will also suffer.
Please explain why you would want to drive around in T/H mode.
It could actually make an auto transmission last longer but is it really worth it.

Ahem...Automatic with 3.73 gears a 6 inch lift and 37" tires

THAT is a recipe for a toasted transmission. Without some VB mods I give it about 20k of stop and go driving for the forward and direct clutches to be slipping and showing signs wear.

Less with power mods and/or a heavy right foot.
