Tires Q?

I picked up a set of brand new Michelin ATX A/S 265/70-17's for a song (FREEbird comes to mind) and was wondering what you guys who run the stock tires thought of them as far as wear and ride are concerned. I can pick up a set of the 17" Aluminum stock wheels for my 2nd gen for pretty cheap and might run them on my truck. Thanks, Kurt

They were great riding tires but do a search for sidewall cracking and you will find that michelin is replacing them under warranty.
I just got back from having mine replaced with 2000 miles on them

They last a long time (50K+) but they suck in snow. I had them on the truck my first winter in Montana and I was slipping and sliding all over the place.

Absolute garbage in winter and not very good on wet roads either. On the highway when it was raining I could feel the truck drift at 70. I had a close call last winter in an intersection (they are always icy because everyone just spins their wheels there). So this winter I am getting the STUDDED Nokian Hakkapelittas .

I live in the south - not much white stuff here, I had similar tires on my 1500, and got 75,000+ miles on them.
I now have the 2500 and have 55,750+ miles on these,- I went to the local tire store and was told I will have approx 15,000mls before needing to change.
I like 'em alot!

My stock michelins lasted about 27k miles before they were toast. They sucked in the snow as well. Never noticed any cracking on mine though.
