tires

I know that this has been beat into the ground, but I found some 315/70/17 Cooper tires for about $900. I am running a steel 17" 7.5 rim. The tires are rated for 8.5-10.0 rims. I know these tires are not rated for my rims, but can I safely run them?

Personally I would not. 7.5 inch wide rim is getting too skinny, but I am sure people have run them. For one, you are going to be unevenly wearing the tires, but I would also be concerned with the bead... My .02
