ticking when key is cycled on and ticking stays constant

ok so i have this ticking when the key is on it is pretty fast and constant. i havent noticed it before and am wondering if it is just the injectors bleeding the air off? i have a lift pump failure code and havent noticed it until this code came up in the truck i have a fuel boss so i have a fuel pump just want to know if it is normal and how do i get rid of the lift pump code? thanks

It is the vaccum pump. The 03 to 04.5 have vaccum pumps for the cruise control to work. The 05 and up trucks have drive by wire, so vaccum pump is needed.

Sounds like injectors bleeding air to me, I can hear it on mine after my pump shuts off.

Injectors #1 and #6 will cycle when the ignition is in the run position and no engine rpm's detected. They are bleeding rail pressure and any possible air out of the rail preparing to start. Perfectly normal operation.

It could also be the Grid Heater Relays cycleing. Does it go away after about 3 minutes? If it does then its the Grid Heater Relays.
