Ticking from under the hood

Have a ticking noise at all engine temps, worse cold lesser hot. Under hard acceleration the ticking momentarily will go away but return as acceleration decreases. Have adjusted the valves twice, they seem good. Any ideas?

Hard to say, but I will list a few possibilities. Will presume that as you have adjusted the valves twice that it is not valve clearance problems. Will also presume that you used the correct settings for the valves. Suggest you get an oil analysis and use that to decide which way to go. You could also do a compression check and see if one cylinder is low. Here are three possibilities that you do not want hear:
- Broken piston ring.
- Wrist pin problem.
- Worn piston, creating piston slap.
