T-case options?
I'm just wondering what the transfer case options are for the 03s? Is there a heavy duty option similar to the 241 hd? I will be doing 4x4 launches, thus the curiosity. Thanks

Re:T-case options?
Is anyone else annoyed that a manual transfer case is not available with the Laramie package?

IMHO there are a few things that have no business on a 4X4 that is used for serious off-roading. 1. CV Joints 2. Auto-Lock Hubs 3. Slushbox Transmission 4. Open Differential 5. Electric Transfer Case

Maybe I just need to get with the times. It is not realistic to expect D-C to cater to the needs of the off-road crowd when over 90% of the 4X4's made never leave the pavement.

;D

I would have rather had the manual shift as it's probably more fool proof in the long run. It would also match the 6spd better. Then again my 95 had a manual shift that was very difficlt to impossible to shift on the fly in cold weather. According to DC at the time this was nature of the beast in cold weather. It did shift perfectly in warm weather when I didn't need it. So as long as the electric works in all weather and doesn't give me any problems I'll be happy.
Pete

Re:T-case options?
I've been 4x4'ing in the rockies for 10 years now with an electric transfer case and have never had a problem with it. In those 10 years I've put on 234,000 km (145,500 miles). It' s also seen duty in the snow and ice, hunting, hauling and tugging other folks out of their low points in life. Just my opinion, but I for one like the electric transfer case and it's on-the-fly engagement. 8)
