Hey I have an 05 CTD, auto trans with 187,000 vehicle runs like a champ but right now it surges at ilde and when i put it in drive, even when i put it in reverse i had my foot on the brake and i was power braking without my foot on the gas, any help would be great before i tow it to the dealer, i checked the oil level and to see if there was any oil in the intercooler, but when i turn the key off everything stop so i know its not a runaway

 

I have no idea man but when you have a good torque convertor it wants to drive the truck for you! you can feel it trying to pull away at a stop light.

Could there be something about the TC loading up on ya?? These guy will help you figure it out.

does the surging go away when it is in park? If so You have a fca hanging up you can take the fca out and spray it with a good brake clean and put it back together.

FCA can do it in park and gear I think. Sure sounds like time for a new one. At 140k on mine, I've been thinking about getting a spare and modding the one I have! If it works for a while, I'll mod the spare too!
