Spring pack noise - Air Bag Related?

Hey guys,

I recently installed some pacbrake air bags and now I noticed there is a noise from the springs when I hit a crack in the road. I found the overload spring u-bolts are loose, the fronts worse than rear. When I tried to tighten the bolts, they were still able to move around if I tapped it with the wrench. I didn't want to crank it down too far thinking that would make the ride worse. I also tried running the bags at 12 psi to see if that would help but it didn't. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Conor

Your u-bolts are still not tightening the pack on to the axle. There either isn't enough threads on the u-bolts and the nut is at the end of the threads or you need to find the issue.

Running around with loose u-bolts is a disaster waiting to happen. They keep the axle and spring connected, imagine if they shifted around alot suddenly while driving.. Bad.

The main spring pack is tight, it's the overload spring u-bolt that wiggles a bit. There is plenty of thread left to tighten it, I was just concerned that cranking the preload on the overload would result in a crappier ride.
