Spring pack noise - Air Bag Related?
Hey guys,
I recently installed some pacbrake air bags and now I noticed there is a noise from the springs when I hit a crack in the road. I found the overload spring u-bolts are loose, the fronts worse than rear. When I tried to tighten the bolts, they were still able to move around if I tapped it with the wrench. I didn't want to crank it down too far thinking that would make the ride worse. I also tried running the bags at 12 psi to see if that would help but it didn't. Any suggestions? Thanks, Conor |
Your u-bolts are still not tightening the pack on to the axle. There either isn't enough threads on the u-bolts and the nut is at the end of the threads or you need to find the issue.
Running around with loose u-bolts is a disaster waiting to happen. They keep the axle and spring connected, imagine if they shifted around alot suddenly while driving.. Bad. |
