"soot" particulate - What size?

Anyone know what size this soot particulate matter is that is suspended in our oil? It's getting thru our oil filter media, obviously, so it's darn tiny. I'm just wondering if it's small enough to NOT clog an injector nozzle. Just a guess but it's gotta be alot smaller than a few microns.

Why would oil be flowing through an injector?

If you use your filtered waste oil as an additive to your diesel fuel.

If I were to hazard a guess, I would say they probably range from sub-micron to a couple of microns...

Not a good idea. The metal particles are small enough also to pass through the oil filter, but they will collect on the INSIDE of your lift pump motor magnets in your fuel tank. Its just not a good idea to save a few bucks. The Dodge set up is not the best for waste oil useage.

If you insist on using it make sure you tell the next guy that's buying your truck you burned used engine oil in the fuel. I'm sure he'll be so impressed he'll give more than you are asking.

There are quite of few people who have been doing this for 100,000's of miles with no problems. First time I've heard about the metal/oil situation. What's with the smart mouthed comment anyway? This truck will be mine until the body rots away.... cummins still purring.

what would be the advantage of running used oil in with your fuel? i have never heard of this before, i have heard of filling the fuel filter on a peterbuilt with automatic transmission fluid but not used oil w/ the fuel.
